"These images are remnants, traces
of what’s left behind by the most intense hurricane in the
Atlantic Basin. Rather than an obvious approach, photographing
the subtle evidence of destruction allowed me to cope with being
witness to such catastrophe. Knowing I would not be able to stay
there much longer after the disaster, I chose to approach its documentation
from a personal point of view. While respecting people’s
grief and struggle, I put the camera down and helped where I could."
