In Wilma’s shadow.
Hurricane Wilma came in full force and refused to leave Cancún for days. It was 2005, and Katrina had just decimated New Orleans a few months before.
These images are remnants, traces of what’s left behind by the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in the Atlantic Basin and among the most destructive. Bearing witness to such catastrophe, picking up the camera happened in between helping the community, respecting people’s grief and struggle.
All images archival pigment prints from the series Huracán: In Wilma’s Shadow, 2005.
